The Autogard torque limiter series 820 is based on a modular technology. In contrast to the very compact series of the 400 series, here torque limiting modules are arranged individually on the circumference. The number of modules and the radius of the arrangement result in the torque that this coupling can secure. In the event of an overload, the modules disengage in milliseconds and disconnect the drive train, releasing the load. Once the fault has been rectified, the coupling can be quickly re-engaged on the modules with a light tap with the soft-faced hammer. The Autogard torque limiter Series 820 Type 1 consists of a pin coupling which is combined with the torque limiter. The buffers as wearing parts of the pin coupling can be exchanged individually without removing the entire coupling.
The Autogard torque limiter series 820 Type 2 consists of a wrap-flex coupling, which is combined with the torque limiter. The Wrap-Flex is an elastic coupling, the inner part as wearing parts can be exchanged without removing the complete coupling.
The Autogard torque limiter Series 820 Type 3 consists of a metal multi-plate coupling, which is combined with the torque limiter. The metal multi-plate clutch compensates for angular misalignments in a single cardanic design.
The Autogard torque limiter series 820 Type 4 consists of two single cardanic tooth couplings, which are combined with the torque limiter. This combination compensates for radial and angular misalignments in the double cardanic design.
Modules are the basic components of the Autogard torque limiterseries 820. The modules are arranged symmetrically on a radius. Depending on the radius, number of modules and individual setting of the modules, any triggering torque can be achieved.
